Clayton Funeral Vehicles is a family-run specialist funeral vehicle hire service, supporting families and funeral directors throughout the UK.

We understand that a funeral is a time to mourn, but also an opportunity to celebrate the life and character of the person being remembered. The right vehicle can reflect their interests, working life, passions or sense of humour, helping to make their final journey feel personal and meaningful.

Every vehicle is prepared and presented to the highest standard, and every funeral is approached with the professionalism, reliability and attention to detail that the occasion deserves.

More than 30 years of experience

Clayton Funeral Vehicles is owned and run by Roger Clayton, who also owns Clayton Carriage Masters, the family’s established horse-drawn funeral service.

Roger and Suzanne have served families and the funeral profession for more than 30 years. During that time, they have built an excellent reputation for the immaculate presentation of their horses and carriages, their reliability and the care they bring to every funeral.

Roger’s son Nick continues those same standards through the family’s motor hearse and limousine services, taking great pride in the preparation and presentation of every vehicle.

Traditional and alternative funeral vehicles

Our collection brings together traditional funeral transport and distinctive alternatives for families who want to create a particularly personal farewell.

Our specialist fleet includes a Land Rover Defender hearse, a restored 1949 Ferguson tractor with matching trailer hearse, a Harley-Davidson Road King trike hearse, a Triumph Bonneville with a custom-made sidecar hearse and Clayton’s Reliant Farewell—our unmistakable yellow 1971 Reliant Regal with its matching purpose-built hearse.

Alongside these specialist vehicles, we also provide beautifully presented horse-drawn funeral carriages and a fleet of traditional motor hearses and limousines.

Whether the family chooses a traditional procession or something completely different, our purpose remains the same: to provide dignified and memorable funeral transport that reflects the person being remembered.

Available throughout the UK

Our specialist funeral vehicles are available nationwide. Where required, they are transported using purpose-built covered trailers, ensuring that they arrive in immaculate condition and are ready for the funeral procession.

We regularly work with funeral directors across the country and carefully coordinate the vehicle, delivery, timings and procession arrangements.

We work closely with the appointed funeral director to ensure that every detail is properly planned and that the final journey is handled with care, dignity and respect.
